Wahkeen is taken from the phonetic spelling for San
Joaquin. The name "Wahkeen" was created to represent our
Christian belief in God The Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit,
or the Trinity. Wahkeen came into being in 1981. We are a private
operation located approximately 45 miles north of Houston, Texas near the
Sam Houston National Forest. We pride ourselves in keeping the kennel
small so that each and every canine friend gets the tender loving care
they deserve. We strive to communicate responsible dog ownership and
carefully screen all prospective puppy owners. Occasionally we board and
condition show dogs for a select few clients. We are always happy to
"talk dog".
